From Reel Love to Real Vows: A Lake Bomoseen Summer Wedding
Forget turquoise waters and swaying palm trees, a summer wedding at Lake Bomoseen in Castleton, Vermont offers a different kind of paradise – one filled with lush greenery, sparkling waters, and a whole lot of charm. And that’s exactly where Brittany and John, a couple who are more likely to be found with fishing rods than fruity cocktails, chose to tie the knot at the gorgeous Lake Bomoseen Lodge and Resort in the summer of 2023.
Their ceremony was officiated by their close friend Ashley Johnson, ensuring a heartfelt exchange of vows that had everyone reaching for the tissues (except maybe John, who according to Brittany has a legendary dry wit). Flowerpower VT brought the Vermont outdoors in with stunning floral arrangements, while we captured every tear, laugh, and dance move (including some of our own, that’s Rhiannon getting the shot on the floor of the dancefloor).
A Boater’s Paradise Meets Rustic Elegance
The Lodge itself provided the perfect backdrop for this classic Vermont affair. Think rustic elegance with all the modern amenities – the kind of place where you can say “I do” under a canopy of trees and then bust a move on the dance floor to tunes spun by Super Sounds Entertainment Inc. Sweet Birch Bakery, Vermont’s answer to all things sugary and delicious, whipped up a cake that disappeared faster than a fish on John’s line. Dinner was catered by the Lake Bomoseen Lodge, ensuring everyone was well-fueled for the dance floor shenanigans that ensued. And can we talk about that dress? Boutique- A Love Story by Angela’s Bridal provided the stunning gown designed by Lis Simon – a dress fit for a Vermont princess (with a penchant for adventure, of course).
A Ceremony as Unique as the Couple
But this wasn’t your average Vermont wedding. Brittany and John, true to their adventurous spirits, incorporated a unique “planting a tree” ceremony to symbolize their growing love. John’s cousin John North serenaded the couple with his guitar during the ceremony, adding a personal touch that had everyone swooning.
Laughter, Love, and a Whole Lot of Dancing
The reception was a non-stop party. Fueled by Super Sounds Entertainment and the open bar, guests danced the night away, creating memories at this Lake Bomoseen summer wedding that would last a lifetime. But the best part of the day, according to Brittany and John? Having all their favorite people together in one place to celebrate their love. Congratulations y’all! May your future together be filled with laughter, adventure, and some good fishing tales!
