“We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Joanna, Rhiannon & Chris! From the first phone call, I immediately felt comfortable with Joanna and knew she 100% understood our vision for the day. As two people who don’t love having our photos taken, we could not have been more at ease throughout our day. Nothing ever felt forced, and the whole team captured so many candid moments throughout the day which made us so comfortable. The photos themselves are absolutely stunning, capturing not only the big moments but also the small, intimate details we’ll cherish forever. They have a true talent for telling a story through their lens, and looking through our photos is like reliving our wedding day. So many of our guests commented on how friendly and approachable they were, especially when being asked to take so many photos! If you’re looking for a team that genuinely cares about their work and will go above and beyond to deliver breathtaking photos, we highly recommend the team at Sixpence. We’re so grateful for the beautiful memories they’ve preserved for us.”
Erin & Evan

Erin and Evan’s wedding at The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Stowe, Vermont, was a masterclass in mountain elegance. Surrounded by the Green Mountains, the couple hosted an intimate celebration that perfectly balanced luxury with a relaxed, warm atmosphere.

A Mountainside Ceremony on the Ballroom Terrace

The ceremony took place on the Ballroom Terrace, offering one of the most iconic views in Stowe. Officiated by their close friend, Kyle Medeiros, the service was deeply personal.

Erin looked radiant in an Antonio Gual gown from The White Dress by the Shore, while Evan looked dapper in a custom suit from Frank’s Tailoring.

Meaningful Details and Heirloom Traditions

What made this wedding truly special were the sentimental touches woven throughout the day. We loved capturing these heirloom details:

  • The Wedding Band: Evan wore his father’s original wedding band, inscribed with “Always and Forever” (his parents’ wedding song).
  • The Engagement Ring: Erin’s ring has been passed down through three generations, from Evan’s grandmother to his mother, and now to her.
  • The Florals: Kari Anderson of Pistil Productions designed a sophisticated palette of sage green and neutrals that complemented the natural Vermont landscape.

Dancing the Night Away with ‘A House on Fire’

After a gourmet dinner provided by the Lodge, the energy shifted as the reception kicked off. Local favorites A House on Fire kept the dance floor moving all night.

As photographers, our goal was to capture the grand scale of the mountains alongside these high-energy, candid moments. Since Erin and Evan mentioned they aren’t usually comfortable in front of the camera, we focused on a photojournalistic approach to keep them at ease.
