When Anna and Andrew described the vision for their August celebration as “quintessential Vermont, light, and airy,” they absolutely delivered. Hosting a Wilburton Inn wedding in Manchester means you get that perfect mix of historic estate charm and sweeping mountain views, which fit this couple’s energetic and adventurous personalities perfectly.
Looking back at this gallery, we love how every part of the day felt incredibly intentional, focusing on exactly what they were looking forward to most: having everyone they know and love together in one beautiful place.

Getting Ready in the Mansion Bridal Suite
The girls spent the morning getting ready in the Wilburton Inn Mansion. Anna’s look came together beautifully—she chose a stunning Suzanne Neville gown from A Little Something White, and her braided updo was accented with delicate blue and white florals that tied perfectly into the day’s color palette.
But the most meaningful pieces she wore were the quiet, sentimental ones. Anna wore her Nana’s Cartier bracelet as her “something borrowed,” alongside a bracelet engraved with “Bruno.” Bruno was their beloved German Shepherd who had passed away earlier that year, and keeping his memory close was a deeply touching tribute woven into the day.
A First Look at the Mountain Overlook
For their first look, we bypassed the architecture of the inn and headed straight for the mountain overlook. The photos from this moment are easily some of our absolute favorites from the entire year. The pure, uncontained laughter between Anna and Andrew with the Green Mountains sprawling behind them completely captures who they are together. It was just the two of them, soaking in the late summer Vermont air before the beautiful chaos of the day began.
A Family-Centered Ceremony
The ceremony space was set up perfectly to highlight the valley views. Anna walked down the venue’s rustic stone steps, a dramatic and elegant entrance that led right into an incredibly personal ceremony. Having Anna’s grandfather, Jim Whittemore, officiate the wedding grounded the entire service in family history. They exchanged their own handwritten vows, surrounded by about 120 of their closest friends and family.
Tented Reception Under a Twinkling Chandelier
One of the best parts of a late August wedding in Vermont is how beautifully the daylight stretches into the evening. Immediately following the ceremony, guests moved to the lovely marble patio right next to the reception tent for cocktail hour, soaking up the sun and the mountain views.
Because the summer days are so long, it stayed light during most of the reception, giving the entire tented celebration a bright, energetic, and open feel. The space was beautifully designed, with soft white draping and a massive statement chandelier hanging right over the dance floor. Nancy Bishop Floral Design brought the “light and airy” vision to life with soft blues, lavenders, and creams on every table.
I have to pause the story right here for a quick venue shoutout: since this wedding, I (Joanna) have told everyone that the best filet mignon I’ve had in Vermont came from the chef at the Wilburton. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Honestly, we just love working with Meesha and the whole team there; they always ensure the day runs flawlessly from a vendor perspective, which makes such a difference.
After that incredible dinner and some truly heartfelt toasts from Anna’s sister Maggie, Andrew’s friend Matt, and Anna’s dad Mark, the real party started. Anna and Andrew shared their first dance under the glow of the chandelier, and DJ Rome kept the energy high for the rest of the night. You can just feel the joy in those late-night dancing shots—collars open, everyone on the floor, celebrating exactly the way they were meant to.
Anna and Andrew, your day was an absolute dream to capture. xoxo – Joanna + Rhiannon
