Mountaintop Vows & Sapphire Skies: Julia & Nick Tie the Knot in Vermont!
Mountain Top Inn Wedding: A Dream Location
We do love a Mountain Top Inn wedding! Not just because it’s our closest venue, but because it offers couples fantastic vistas, plenty of location choices for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, plus (and perhaps most importantly) the opportunity to have their celebration and their guests’ accommodation all in one place. Before we moved to Vermont, we didn’t realize how few and far between venues with on-site catering and accommodation are!
This was certainly a factor for Julia and Nick, who chose the resort for their late spring wedding. Nestled amongst the sugar maples just starting to show their spring colors, their special day unfolded with all the charm and beauty Vermont has to offer. Nick’s family has deep roots in the area, making the Mountain Top Inn the perfect location to celebrate their love story. Think rustic elegance meets mountain lodge chic. Meadow’s Edge absolutely outdid themselves with the floral arrangements. They were a stunning mix of lavender, white, and pale pink blooms which perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the surroundings.
A Proposal as Sweet as Cake
The proposal itself was a testament to their playful and loving bond. On their third dating anniversary, which also happened to be Nick’s birthday, Julia surprised him with a homemade birthday cake. After Nick blew out the candles, he surprised Julia right back, pulling out a ring and popping the question. How could she say no?
A Bride Fit for a Fairytale
We love it when a friend or family member officiates a wedding ceremony. Julia and Nick had both in Monty Pierce. Rev. Pierce is Julia’s mom’s pastor and came in all the way from Texas. And Julia? Well, she was a vision of vintage romance in a Rebecca Ingram gown from Azarue’s Bridal, complete with a jeweled flower crown which added a touch of whimsical magic. Nick, looking dapper in a blue suit from McNeil & Reedy in Rutland, couldn’t keep his eyes off her.
Festivities Under the Vermont Sky
After the ceremony, guests were treated to cocktail hour on the terrace, complete with breathtaking panoramic views of the Green Mountains and delectable appetizers courtesy of the Mountain Top Inn’s culinary crew. Then, it was party time! Top Hat Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night, while the three-tier cake from Jupiter Rising Bakery disappeared faster than you can say “Vermont wedding.” Our favorite part of the cake was the adorable cake topper featuring Julia and Nick’s pup, Morty, adding a touch of furry whimsy to their happily ever after!
This was a celebration of love, laughter, and their shared passion for the great outdoors (they told us their favorite thing to do together is anything which gets them outside!). Julia, with her adventurous, goofy, and compassionate spirit, perfectly complements Nick, the handyman, funny, and genuine guy of her dreams. Congratulations, Julia and Nick! May your love story continue to unfold with the beauty and wonder of a Vermont spring!
